Birthday Girl! The Big 2

Well, this post is super late in coming but we have been a little busy.  Since you last heard from us Miss Avery has turned two (and with a vengeance).  Here are some highlights from the celebration.

No birthday is complete without the obligatory school celebration.  Avery specifically requested that we have balloons for her party, but not to sing the birthday song.  One out of two ain’t bad.

We enjoyed lunch with all the kiddoes.

For lunch, we were featuring a kid-friendly menu of mac and cheese, applesauce, and popsicles.  Everyone seemed to really enjoy their food, although I did feel bad about the laundry problems I created for several parents.

A good time was had by all.

Happy Birthday to Avery!

But that was just the beginning!  For the actual Day of the Birth, we took Avery to visit none other than Thomas the Train.  “A Day out with Thomas” was coming to Edaville USA, so we went down to Carver, MA to check it out.  Turns out there is lots of fun stuff going on there other than Thomas!  We were up bright and early and as luck would have it, were the very very first to walk through the turnstile when the place opened.  There were plenty of rides to ride:

It’s easier to see Avery’s great smile in this picture, but pretty soon the staff person came by to inform Mom that small children need to ride on the INSIDE.

There were also fun indoor activities too:

But most importantly, we got to meet Thomas himself.

The man! The mystery.
